6.2.1 Transitions
Invite parents to participate in ELLA at the preschool with their own children. This could take place on a specially allocated day, or as part of your normal preschool routine. Give families access to the ELLA apps during these visits.

Invite parents to view the data that has been recorded about their child in the ELLA apps. Point out the amount of time the child has spent using them. Show parents the learning outcomes that their child has been working on by using the ELLA apps.

Look at the environment in the countries that speak your chosen language. Take the children for a walk in your local community and consider similarities and differences between our environment and those of other countries that speak your chosen language. Are there any cultural gardens in your community that you could visit?

Consider your local secondary schools and universities. Invite a language student to visit to sing a song or read a story to the children.
Children engage with a range of texts and gain meaning from these texts
